Its true, meditation's best teacher is yourself. This is a blessing for those wanting to learn to meditate online, but it also creates a problem for every meditation student. It means that it is sometimes difficult to get an answer to a question you may have. This is where the online community can be of help, sharing experiences, and it is also a good idea to find meditators living in your area to join in a group meditation.

In the end, what naturally develops from practising daily meditation is the skill of listening, trusting and developing faith and love in oneself. This is the beginning of a true spirituality.

The meditation society is non-denominational - we are a group encompassing all faiths, who exist to help you learn to meditate. We hope you use our resources to discover your own path.

Our free online course features a step-by-step guide for people learning to meditate, complete with guided meditation exercises with meditation music that you can download and play.

Each free class includes a discussion on a particular spiritual topic and a guided meditation exercise. For members (membership is free) the discussion and exercise are also provided as free radio quality audio mp3 downloads - just click on the link within the classes. For a $10 join-up fee Premium Members receive these guided meditations in CD quality.

The classes including guided meditations are also available as audio podcasts in the "Learn to Meditate" series. Each guided meditation exercise is also available in our "Guided Meditations" video podcasts. The guided meditation techniques we will tackle include mantra, music, breath, walking, and creative visualisation and scene-based exercises. We hope you enjoy them.

 

Each class is set up for one week, structured for you to meditate and work upon the ideas brought up in the class in your daily meditation. But you can access them all at once if you are on the move and in a hurry to download to your ipod etc. Once you have signed up, click on the links on the left to navigate through the classes. You will be asked to log in with your email address to gain access to the downloads.

There are many gifts that meditation offers including the obvious physical benefits of stress reduction, better sleep and improved health, but most that begin this process seeking self-help find that the real strength of meditation is the greater self awareness or inner understanding we develop.
